I went out for a swing with a group of guys from the Hunter Valley over the weekend and picked up an old aluminium bread token. The terrain was a little challenging because of recent rain but the site has always paid dividends and this trip was no exception. A number of pre-decimal coins and other historic items were also found but this was my best find for the day. The token was black when I found it, I actually thought it was a corroded copper token , I've since cleaned it up with a bit of Bi-Carb. Source: www.prospectingaustralia.com.au
Challenging ? did you bring the brush cutter and snake repellent ! Good cond token for something fairly old, WWII perhaps ?
Hahaha, I was fully suited up, snake proof gaiters and all. The thing to watch out for is the dam mosquito's, buggers still get you through two shirts Yeah the site was very active around WWII days, you wouldn't think so by the look of it now though.
