    Hi all

    I found a reckless , it says Italy & 925
    but is mildly magnetic

Since I scrap metals & it looks like silver not stainless
I wonder what kind of metal it might be, must be a counterfeit & well made,
I'd almost say looks like nickel .
Are fakes ever made of nickel? or nickel & silver .

Recent increases in the prices of copper, nickel, and zinc mean that both the US one- and five-cent coins are now worth more for their raw metal content than their face (fiat) value. In particular, copper one-cent pieces (those dated prior to 1982 and some 1982-dated coins) now contain about two cents' worth of copper.

That almost sounds like a Rain man answer

So sounds like you think it's - nickel - copper - zinc - German silver

Take it somewhere and get it XRF checked, that's the only way to tell for sure

Depends how mildly your talking (are you using a rare earth magnet to test with), it might be 925 with most of the rest being nickel, also don't test it near any ring-bolt etc. as the internal springs are made of steel.

Chain does not stick to a regular magnet

I only thought is was counterfeit as the pawn shop said it was , Mild is simply as such - a good ferris metal will fly up with power
with the Neodymium chain responds but you need get around 2 or 3/16 away and it's easy to free up .
Good ferris clinks with sound & clings strong can't really shake off
