A heads up for all forum members.

For the past two months this forum has been operating without input from the owner @goldpelican. I have tried to make contact with him on a number of occasions without success, and thank you to the members that have assisted in that process recently.

Essentially, I'm not sure what the future holds for this forum as I'm not sure of @goldpelican's plans or his status.

To our site sponsors, naturally this is of a huge concern as you have a commercial agreement with him. I'm hoping that he has had other priorities to attend and will make his presence felt shortly.

In the meantime I'll do what I can with my limited permissions to keep this forum operating, for how long I do not know.

Is there an alternative should the site go down?

I trust that rumours of the death of SS are greatly exaggerated but if not, rather than reinvent the wheel, a buyout by interested parties would be the way to go.

I know that he is a founder of rumple.io
    https://www.rumple.io/

I left a support query on that website with details. Perhaps it will be passed on to him by that team.

Forum closure is not an option.

    The forum must continue.

It is a silver oasis in a dry land.

There are a handful of members who would rather post 90% in pictures and memes that make the threads look more like a twitter war than a discussion. It's abysmal reading, hostile to new people and kills the transfer of valuable information. In the name of 'critical thinking'? It's guerrilla propaganda, as shameless as any government version.

I don't mind it in small doses to get a point across, but its relentless and brain-dead to the degree it's reaching.

I know the cure - take a break. It's probably time again.
