I think it looks like a drill hole, a cooling dimple would be not on the side of the stamp. I have heard it is pretty much standard procedure in some shops to drill out some, melt it, then hit it with xrf gun, so as to eliminate any thick plated bars getting purchased. As a troy ounce it should weigh 31.1grams. How much does it weigh? my guess is 30g
No need to be angry spannermonkey, everyone is a novice at one time! I have no experience here and just calling it as I see it. I guess they use the hole to get the weight spot on. What would you think if you had never seen a bar with a drill hole in it? Still wanna see one on a scale at 31.1g though.
