Fishing Trip: Fraser Island - Hervey Bay coast approx 9th May 2012

back in mackay now... heading back down south... pit stop in yeppoon... hopefully shiney show novice how to catch fish... i only good at throwing bait out... someone help teach me fishing

learned importance of patience on trip... must dedicate more than 15min fishing before trying different spot

stocked up on dare milk double espresso... that all that matters

 

im thinking my next big trip is going to be around adelaide, bypassing sydney then melbourne... might attack the nullabor and head over to perth for fishing... next time i bring big gunz (i.e. proper rods and reels). the reels i am using is only good for catching whiting, and even then i failed
that will be talked more in another thread when time getz closer
hopefully redback fix me up for fishing advice and gas cooker health n safety tricks

for now, tropical boring coast will do

 

W & F... Yous should have tried harder in Hervey Bay...I've hooked some monsters there but havn't as yet being able to get them in the boat..Had a whale of a time trying though .

next stop on journey is... stanage bay, qld... "suppose" to be top fishing there... lets see if this novice fisherman can hook one coral trout

should arrive there in approx 3-4 hours

 

Apologies my mistake,traveling around outback got me accustomed to viewing water and ethanol as synonymous as a tradable commodity for a kangaroo tail or other

 

back in brisbane for a week approx

i enjoyed my time with yanks they make nice spuds n bacon

fishing was serious epic failure

perhaps some of you school yourself about moon, tides, seasons and sunrise before giving me shyt... i knew full well the conditions were against me, but i was still hoping for at least 'something' legal size... meh
i will try again, but at a time when all conditions are met (high tide coming in on sunrise during mid summer around full moon hopefully after a wee bit of hard rain)... then i show you all how to catch a REAL SNAG
till then you will just all settle for air-fish THIS BIG i imagined

 

not catching any legal fish did bring out rages

 

the rockhampton zoo was actually alright btw shiney the yanks peed themselves over koalas

 

i forgot to mention, sambo found a chainsaw in a tree - no limbs found
still kicks over, just needs a good clean and chain replace

all up, there were enough "torture" tools in back of 4wd to drive any tourist and backpacker paranoid

these were done with conan compact digi camera with salt water still fuzzy on lens cause i couldnt be stuffed wiping off

i like the idea of using an alvey reel hooked up on side of boat, and winch in the catch
