    Hi,

Need some advice. Perth mint 10 oz silver bars, should I be worried about them being fake?
Is there anyway for me to have them checked to ensure they are real?
The bars are in Perth and I am in Brisbane.

    Any help ould be great.

It would also depend on who you are getting them from, The Perth Mint, a Perth Dealer, a guy from Perth who you have never met before, eBay.

It is usually down to trust, education and experience.

If it is your first purchase why not come along to a Brisbane meeting, handle the silver in person, get some better offers and have a load of witnesses around when you make the deal.

Not to worry the OP but yes, 1oz has been faked- http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-20524-fake-silver-ingot-warning-video.html
Usually it's the bigger American brands but there have been fake lunar Dragons discovered.

Johncan, where are you buying it from? If there isn't a significant difference in price ($10 or so) I'd personally buy from a Brisbane dealer or a member here

Buy from proper bullion dealers or mints and you will be right. Also consider lesser known brands, ie regal as they will be less likely to be counterfeited.

Yes good plan to buy from a bullion dealer - like the silverstacker site sponsors.
If the deal is too good to be true, its probably a scam.

That wasn't a bad price, postage would bring the cost up a bit.

There is no real rush to buy silver, there is plenty about but the price is nice at the moment for sure.

I see quite a few of these bars, amongst others at the Brisbane Meet, I haven't asked prices but they would go up and down anyway!
