Ron Currie- from the perth mint said....
"The reason we decided not to limit sales was because when we showed the early production samples to some of our wholesale customers their reaction was certainly nowhere near as strong as the market has subsequently proved to be. To be honest, we saw it as a good opportunity to trial a 2oz collectable! Obviously we're delighted collectors have responded so positively, but having offered the first release without restriction we'll stick with that policy for the remainder of the series."

I hope they changed their mind!!!!

(Sorry i thought you were talking about the perth mint, disregard this message :) )

Another ugly monstrosity that I will definitely not be buying.

Fun indeed, I'll be buying the lot of 1500, and flipping them for 500.00 each. Capitalism at its best. LOL! Thanks PM. I mean, Ron.

You're either a master of sarcasm or full of crap. Either way, buy silver.

Neither, just saying what a lot of folks wish they could do, including me. I'm not so crazy about the series, but lots of money to be made on the coins for a quick flip...I'll for sure be ready to buy a few (perhaps 10 if lucky). If not, I'll go back to my original plan...buy my favorite bullion coins, to add to the stack.

How are you going to buy 1500 if I already bought 1499? ;) (I'll let you have that 1 haha)

Gee, one per household?? That makes waking in the middle of the night to secure an order a lot less attractive. What will the flippers do now??

My psychology worked (LOL). However, I do believe they read this site. :). I'm sure I expressed what others thought. There are deep pockets out there...and they're fast with the trigger too. I could see some dealer swooping up a large stack, doing exactly what we stated...and flip them for 500.00. Kudos to the Mint. Now I don't have worry about snagging 5 or 10, because I sure would have, given the opportunity!! So Perth Mint, kudos to you for using good judgement in my honest opinion...because there are hucksters out there like WSD, who would have done exactly as I described. :)

Good luck to everyone going after that coin. I'll go back to my original plan.

Of course they read this site, that's who they are talking about when they say "Unauthorised publication of a Poseidon coin image at the weekend..."

I'm quite sure the todocopia1 character who started this thread was quite aware that he was breaking embargo and probably created a new account so he wouldn't get blackballed by the mint

Flippers will always find ways to flip. I doubt they just buy from Perth.

Well I did say it was harder. Just curious how will affect the prices for the first coin in the series.

Always wanted to own one but will not pay the asking prices on ebay now.

Great 1 coin per customer, but i got an honest question, what if i bought 5 of the first coin, cause have no limit, i took the risk hoping it will hold its value (which is rare for perth mint), 99% of there coins you can buy in a month for less then issuse price, now they go back on there word and says 1 per customer, so if the coin is not hot or perth donot think it is , buy the truck load, and ohh all of sudden, people start crying, change in policy just week before release, and they have that posted on website by there Clown that there will be no limit and now what an excuse that picture got out, now whose fault is that?hahahah, those jokers , boy i am old school, a man word use to mean something, then the time change , you have to see it in writing, well apprently that donot work either, no honesty or ethics from businesses
this whole game the only winner is Perth mint, by the way i didnot buy the first one and would not buy the 2nd one either, i was just trying to make a point, hopefully somone understood me.

Meh, I think they will stick with the 1 coin per customer policy (at least for the second coin).

Perhaps if sales really did badly, then they might consider lifting restrictions.

Altima@ thats what exactly my point is, no RULES, they do as they wish, if it goes dead, there will be no limit again, thats why i quit buying from perth mint.

I like this decisions a lot, even if it means that I won't be able to load up on them.

If you want to buy in bulk then contact PM and inquire about becoming a distributor/dealer.

I believe that we're reaching a point where we'll start seeing the higher premium collectors start to disappear if something isn't done to cut down on the Feebay flippers jacking the prices to the real collectors simply because they were faster to order them direct from Perth.

I would also like to see PM and others enforce some sort of required retail price, at least for a few weeks after release; this would in turn stop Apmex, Talisman coins and others from becoming the new Feebay flippers.
