No affiliation to this whatsoever, just a nice detector find and a bit of good ol' English history in the link. Ewerby Civil War Hoard During Autumn 2016 a metal detectorist was searching a field near the village of Ewerby in Lincolnshire when he received a signal only a few inches below the surface. Having found little in the area previously he was pleasantly surprised when the unmistakable glint of a silver coin caught his eye. This led him to discover one of the largest Civil War hoards (1200 hammered coins of various denominations) ever to be found in the country! The find was duly reported, recorded then most of the coins were returned to the finder. https://www.silburycoins.co.uk/hoards-and-research/ewerby-civil-war-hoard/
