EU barriers to agricultural trade

    A group of countries including Australia have lodged a formal complaint against the EU’s necessarily burdensome agricultural trade barriers.

    Matt Ridley argues these barriers ignore sound scientific research, are imposed in order to protect their own farmers, gag innovation and may actually contribute to environmental degradation.

    Glyphosate is set to be banned and of course genetically modified organisms are on the banned list as well in spite of the scientific evidence that finds these products safe to use.

    Those regulations are the reason I'll buy European foodstuffs but not China products.
