its not ideal but it is profitable at the moment, i check the price a couple of times a day if it does become unprofitable ill shut them down.

at the moment with it being winter teh cards are heating the house so its not too bad :)

if you are looking at nvidia cards best card is the 1060 6g card you can gert 23ish mh/s @ 65-755w if you want a 1070 for your gaming rig just buy one / 2 :)

that is what I did with the 1080ti. Its not the best bang for ya buck miner but it is paying for its self presently so the $1100 price tag does not seem so bad.

I was early in but much too early out :-(

you have to be passionate to what you do, and be prepared for.not getting paid.

thats when you will keep the coins.. and ride along the ups and downs..

I built a couple of high end rigs with very little knowledge and a lot of help from a particular couple of members on these threads. One of them woke me up to the potential of alt coins at the time (3-4 years back) after I thought very little of them till BTC exploded from .1 cent $ US and then I actually got what a blockchain meant after dissing it as Tulip mania for a few years.
The other person spent a lot of time talking me through how to put a rig together very patiently until I got things to work, was on hand for every stupid question I had and got a redneck like me tech savvy with how to mine Alt coins over private messages on Silver Stackers.

If I can do it... You could train your dog to do it.

Up until the recent rise in value, I had not even looked at my old wallets from back then (2013) . Low and behold the remaining ones on my laptop were worth over 30 k in today's value and all from a three month period of mining back then. Mind you I also cashed out of a lot of mined coins when I moved to an area with very very poor sattelite internet connection as well and the coins I kept were not worth the hassle of cashing in at the time.

Just last week, I found the very first issue of how to mine Ethereum in windows on this six year old laptop, the original protocol for mining it.
.....IF ONLY I HAD MINED JUST 1000 back then huh ? Or just bought 1000 when they were as cheap as a packet of chicken twisty's ?

    Such is life huh ?

Blockchain Technology will change everybody's life over the next twenty years, get on board now for the future as it is coming whether you like it or not, educate your children, the people you like, yourselves about what it will mean to your lives.

And if you have a spare 100-1000 in fiat to gamble away, get on board the roller coaster of trading Altcoins for losses or gains that the current bank and share market returns can only dream about in their wildest and wettest dreams.

That's not even a tenth of them, but just this lot could be educational for those who feel / think that this is all just a ponzi scheme and that there is nothing to gain here.

That aside I liquidated everything a short while ago for a small profit and went full on into ETH.

what were the alt coins that you forgot about that were worth that much?

I almost bought some eth last year @ $17 to buy DAO but decided against it. I now regret that decision.

I moved some BTC into ETH too. I think people will move into it when it gets closer to August 1st so hopefully can catch a big price increase.

When the BTC block chain potentially splits. I thought it might scare some people so they will trade their BTC into ETH a few days before

Very cautious about the ETH price. Focusing on the other altcoins that are really getting beat up. Time to go shopping!

I had a lazy 223266 Potcoin on one wallet and 561000 Doge as the main ones, feather and lite coin, some other assorted such as moon and earthcoin, plus some that went extinct as well. Mind you my original starting balance of the first two was 700, 000 and nine million respectively. I had toupdate them over a couple of weeks.
Have now traded the Potcoin up to 79 Eth and am still trying to free up the Dogecoin from a crappy satellite connection, it seems to take a huge amount of data to update a three year old doge wallet and I ate up over half of our on peak allowance in a single night last week.

Lisk ? Bitshares ? Gridcoin ? what you liking there ? Seems to be some money to be made once the mania dies down a bit and the rest of the planet starts looking at things other than ETH and BTC huh? Have made a motza on lisk over the last week or so trading the swings, but I plan on riding ETH all the way for now and already have quite a few stuck in stranded trades for now. Either ETH has to come down quite a fair way which I personally don't see happening for now or they have to rise up in value as well ?
Which way do you think it will go ?
