Thought I'd contribute a beauty to the thread. This is the rare "SCCC" hallmark. It is located on the bottom of a long "The Perth Mint" 1 Kilo Bar circa 1980's, along feature is a 4 digit serial number. At first I didn't know what to make of it but dolomite here is a real champion and this is an awesome thread!
Bought my first Engelhard today so I thought I'd post it here. Anyone know anything about it? Era, mintage, value etc? The serial is 342. [imgz=http://forums.silverstackers.com/uploads/10599_20131114_183319-1.jpg][/imgz]
Someone more educated on the matter feel free to correct me but I would say late 70's, low mintage, a good find, Engelhard silver is not exceptionally rare but not too many 1/2 kilos around, value is subjective, I would say spot x 1.7+ to the right buyer
Here are another 2. [imgz=http://forums.silverstackers.com/uploads/10599_20131118_122304-1.jpg][/imgz]
Thats an Australian version produced at the Engelhard refinery in Thomastown Victoria in the early 1980's Those 1kg bars were also made in Thomastown around the same period Sweet bars
How can there be an Engelhard thread without prospector coins? Silver prospector by TomD77, on Flickr
