Looks like Tamo from LBC is liquidating a lot of his coins. Auctions all end today. http://www.ebay.com/sch/ta-mo/m.html?item=130758030771&pt=US_World_Coins&hash=item1e71c935b3&rt=nc
That is the same thing they replied to me: Dear XXXXXXXXXX, Just relax. We're only selling a 5 oz silver panda coin and not anywhere do we state that it's a minted yuan coin. - a1worldtrading
Actually they are incorrect, they call it a coin, that means it is backed by a monetary value, they need to refer to it as bullion then!
It depends on what you are referring as monetary value. If this means fiat money, then that is a very recent concept. If it means material value, then it is always there. A coin is just a coin - as long as they do not claim it is currency, it should be acceptable I guess.
ok i just bought this 1996 1/10 gold panda at a great price ,at first look it doesn't appear that way at 257usd, Can anyone tell me why I think i paid 1/2 price??251141802433 listing #
The 1/10 looks weird . . is it only 1/10th? that is the only thing I could see. It doesn't look like it says "10" - it looks like "11"
OK Ok the panda is not listed as such but look carefully ,it is not your run of the mill fractional bear (not that any 1996 bear is) the Chinese inscription Temple side gives it away it is the 15th anniversary variety ,if the seller would have listed it that way ,it could have easily brought 450 at auction .there is one listed on ebay now graded 69 at 1475............. i just stumbled on it lucky me
1/10th 20,000 I believe MR.G and china mint website concur ,the 1/4 oz is 8000 ,the 1oz is 3800 2 stars in Gbook only these 3 sizes minted, no 1/20 or 1/2.
The 1 ounce 1996 15th aniversary comes in two varieties, easily distinguished by the position of the date (centered or off-center). http://rare-panda-coins.blogspot.com/ Relative rarity of these two versions is still a question. But I do see 2 centered an 1 off-center currently on Ebay. Looks like you got a 1/10 with the date in the center. Does anyone know if there are also two varieties for the fractionals?
