Not a dumb question. I have often referred to many a website to try and get a definitive answer on things like this, and other conversions. And as yet, I wouldnt even feel comfortable to give you an answer. Which really sort of defeats the purpose of me answering.
The reason i ask is because i'm using an excel sheet provided by one of this forums more experienced members, and it seems to calculate in ounces. For some reason i bought 2, one kilo bars. HMMM
Do you have an iPhone? This app has the ability to convert in and out of troy ounces. http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/myconvert-unit-converter/id288679348?mt=8 Hmm.. it's not free anymore. It was when I got it 18 months ago. Maybe the lite version has the ability too.
In all seriousness, Google "1 kilogram to troy ounces". There is a built in conversion calculator in Google. "kg to troy oz" works too.
