Went into Downies in Sydney (Town hall arcade) today. Absolutely no specimen silver on display at all. No Kooks, No Lunars, No Koalas. No Eagles. No Maples. No Philharmonics. NOTHING! Asked when the next lot was in? 'Nothing until MARCH' I am told! They had a few bags of post war sixpence for sale and a variety of gold - plenty of gold actually - BUT NO SILVER other than proofs/collectables. Interesting I thought... I didn't have the time to check out other stores in the City though, so other places like KJC and ABC might be fine, but forget Downies for the moment, they have zip. Cheers
Commodities were soaring last night - palladium & copper making new highs etc. Only commodities that didn't move were silver & gold. Stinks of manipulation!!
A dealer in Sydney sent out an email yesterday informing that due to the holiday season there are short delays in the production of silver bullion bars from their suppliers and as a result there will be delays of between 2 - 3 weeks for 1kg. They do guarantee any orders placed for these bars though. No doubt that producers are trying to catch up over the holiday period, just lik most businesses, but physical silver on most lines are tight none the less.
Interesting, I went there yesterday and bought a few 5oz lunars. Surprised the rest were sold out quickly. Slam
