Hi all, Downies online have 1oz koalas and kooks for $35. Surely this isn't correct, anyone ordered these? https://www.downies.com/australia/store/product.asp?id=5488 https://www.downies.com/australia/store/product.asp?id=5364 Disclaimer states: Online prices are subject to change based on the daily rates of precious metals. What does that even mean? You order and then they can charge more that the online price.. confused.
Man i bought it, got a bloody confirmation email and im sitting tight to see if i get it, 35 is FREAKING cheap even when spot was 30 - 31 ?! WTF
Yeh will let you know, all i know is , its been paid for, my card has been charged i got a confirmation email of the price, what else can happen such that i have to pay more ?!
If you get charged for more than the agreed price, just dispute the charge with your credit card provider
I bought some kooks @ $35 from downies. They called me and told me $37.70 was the price I had to pay to get my order. This was on the 03/01/2011.
The proviso is "Online prices are subject to change based on the daily rates of precious metals" so you can be assured that you wont get that price. Its so obvious that they will call you up with a new price, typical bait and switch price swindle.
I got caught on this a while back as well. I also got a confirmation email and all. However, my card wasn't charged. It took them around 3-4 days to contact me to tell me that the price of the lunar rabbits were no longer $35, and that they were now $42 each. And this was after they asked me to send my identification, saying that they were preparing to ship the order. I was so disgusted so I gave them a piece of my mind. I can see that they still continue not to update their site. Needless to say I cancelled my order as the coins could be found much cheaper elsewhere.
I think the Office of Fair Trading might have something to say if they offer one price and even accept payment on that price then hold you to ransom for more money prior to delivery.
Exactly and that subject to price change can be viewed as "if the price changes it will update on the website" JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER BULLION DEALER out there such as ABC and also BB. It is subject to change and will change in realtime or close to ...
You will probably get a phone call within a few days from downies and they will have a new price for you. A higher slightly price.
did you guys read their terms and conditions? ....Supply * Downies.com reserves the right to refuse or reduce supply to any individual, company or destination for any reason, including but not restricted to, the unavailability of any product, an error in the price or description, failure in payment, or where fulfilment of the order may expose the company to unnecessary risk.
I saw this on their site today also. Rang to confirm and was quoted around $43 a kook. I questioned the guy and he said after the order is processed they'll come back with any difference you need to pay. Gave it a miss.
