    ok, this may sound crazy.

But with many people predicting a short-term crash in Bitcoin (I'm not one of them) could Dogecoin be a safe haven?

as many people who own Doge aren't your typical crypto speculator (i know Allot are!) and wouldn't panic sell if Bitcoin/cryptos started falling.

Just thinking out loud and trying to figure out my strategy over the coming days.

    lol

People used to think the same of Litecoin, though the recent crash to $455 in Bitcoin that Litecoin also suffered from shows two things:

    1) That altcoins can quickly and unpredictably fall out of favor
    2) Altcoins are not safe havens nor immune from Bitcoin crashes

Coins with low market caps will probably suffer to a lesser extent though, unless confidence is lost in cryptocurrencies as a whole

    Hey mate,

I think Doge coin will hit 0.01 $ and might go higher even (why not?), because it's so fashionable and it's the cutest coin out there and one of the cheapest. People just seem to love it. Look at the craze around it. Even on this forum. We're all lined up.

    Send me too, please :)

My take on this is not about the numbers. It's about how Doge is not like BTC. I first started looking at BTC when it was well under a dollar, because it was of technical interest and my job is in that area. I thought it was too technical, too hard to use, and clearly set up by nerds with no business sense. I still think I was right, but I missed the big picture and made absolutely no money!

Doge is more user friendly. Anyone seems able to set it up. It is like the ideas have matured into the real world.

It took me about 2 minutes to get my Doge wallet:
    DQvU8aaj3p2V5GVPs7QnFQBjJK9wnhreNz

It took me days to figure out BTC.

And also in the future will we look back and say well BTC led the way then died, and the next wave is what stuck? For example MySpace and Facebook. The first big one often gets replaced by something better that comes along a bit later.

That is why I think Doge will go a lot higher. It's time for it, and it is so much simpler that it could get a lot more mainstream.

Although I am still getting an Out of Sync error!

Days to figure how to "setup" a bitcoin wallet?
You must have been doing it wrong.
    1. Download the client
    2. Install it
    3. Wait for the blockchain to synch
    4. Voila!

Seems to be a more user friendly type of cypto-currency, missed out on Bitcoin, Litecoin run so third times a charm, hopefully they get it right:)

Also the wallet was so easy, people like easy to use items.

The big question is will the flood of alt coins drag Btc down until they are all worth the same ?

If there are 100 exact copies of something, why should they have different values if they are all the same ?

Or will Btc continue to benefit from being the first and best known ?

    Only time will tell

You could say the same thing about gold and silver they are all"technically" the same just with different imprints, people value things over the slightest thing.

Well that's a new one - gold and silver are technically the same thing.

A better analogy is if you were buying a mobile phone.
Phone A made by Apple and phone B made by Samsung
They both have the same utility but some will pay more for the Apple because of style or brand awareness or cool factor or whatever.

But there is a limit to that brand factor. If the Apple phone was 10 times the price of the Samsung phone there may not be many buyers willing to pay that much premium over the utility.

If at some point in the future (not now obviously) you can do everything with doge coins that you can with bit coins, why should the market cap of bit coin be multiple times the market cap of doge coin ?

I think there are too many ppl manipulating the market right now, but it might eventually hit the mark with all the popularity it's gathering.

    Why couldn't Dogecoin hit 1 dollar? :D

More media attention and more intense network effects could propel it up there!
