Actually you are correct: Albert Einstein 'Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.'
Thank you to the intelligent posters for the useful responses to a stocks/derivatives question and apologies for the rantings from the peanut gallery hive mind.
I am all for renewable energy, it is the only sane response to the oil based industrial age that is drawing to a close. I think that it's a great stock to purchase if it is not some weird government funded project from some hastily constructed "green scheme" program such as the debacle in Australia which leaves rusting hulks of collapsed wave energy machines rusting in navigation channels. What I am looking for is a way to short the collapsing fake derivatives market set up by Al Gore and his partner General Electric along with the big merchant banks. It's clear that this system is rightfully approaching the end of it's run.
I'm not sure that coal is something that I want to invest in, I want to see fossil fuels preserved and replaced with REAL renewable energy. Basically I want to short the collapsing scam projects such as "Cap and Trade".
There's probably a way you can place "Put" options on the European Climate Exchange (ECX) which trade carbon financial tools on the London Stock Exchange's Alternative Investment Market. I don't really know enough about it though.
