    Hello,

Do you travel abroad with PM's by air?

As far as I know, you have to declare it at the airport: tell them how much you have. How is it in your country, what is the procedure? Do you have to pay anything upon arrival?

Suppose you want to move abroad, you have to carry your personal PM reserves...

depends on which country, ie India charges tax

Personally I would sell it and buy new over in the new country. It would be too much hassles

Depends, of course. This is why I'd like to hear as many opinions as possible.

Internationally you're generally allowed to have max.10,000 USD on you, but when hitting this limit you already have to declare it at the airport (no problem).

How much gold, silver is allowed when flying/crossing borders? I suppose it's measured in grams and has nothing to do with the 10,000 USD limit.

    here there everywhere
It's an open ended question .
Where did you get the $10K figure from ?
It all depends on where you are travelling too and from .

    Just checked several countries' requirements.
The 10,000 $ standard in Europe, I think in many countries in Asia, Latin America.

But you can't just bag a bunch of PM's and expect to just pass the X-ray machine.

Here's what I came across about Germany:

Jewellery and other goods made from precious metals or stones are not considered cash equivalents and consequently need not be declared when entering Germany from the EU or exiting Germany to another EU country.

I travel back and forth across the ditch all the time carrying PM’s with no issues

As they are always in my carry on baggage they lumps of silver do light up when going through the xray machine process and they like to take a look and once you explain what it is they shrug their shoulders and pack the bag again and on my way no problems
