    Hi guys
Can someone please explain Australia's interpretation of 9,18,24 carat and international.
I see 9c as 37.5% of total weight to be gold, 18c 75% and 24c is pure gold.
So I'm confused by a listing like this http://bit.ly/1a6Yeiv
Which states 9 carat 375 brass filled, which would mean to me 37.5% is gold and the remaining 62.5% is possibly brass, but the price suggest otherwise.

It's the latest fad in all the retail jewellers these days
    It's cheap they state it's silver/copper filled
Just heavy gold plate NOTHING more

Hmm, isn't the item location suspicious to begin with?!

How can they list an item as 9carat if it simply isn't. It should read 0.001 carat or something to clearly show there is little to no gold content

They are just trying to sell some cheap rubbish to someone who thinks they're getting a bargain. The outside imay be 9k and these scammers call it gold filled, copper filled, silver filled or in this case brass filled but the reality it that it isn't even that good. As spannermonkey says, it's nothing more than gold plate. They just word the ads carefully so that you can't claim that the item was 'not as described'.
