I can only find the smallest amount of information on this bar and that was at odd ag/odd size site. I shall have it in my hands tomorrow. I do not like the feeling of paying over spot for something that (may have value). Any Matthey Garret buffs care to tell me what these go for in box. I could not even find one on fleabay. Thanks in advance.
Thanks I am 90% sure i am going to put it up for auction on here. AUD of course. I shall have a dig around and see what else i can find on it.
Here is some info. You have to spell the words correctly when you do a search (GARRETT). Scroll down approx. 2/3 down the page below, and it shows your bar. If you paid more than a couple of $ over spot then yes, in my opinion you got burnt. If you flip it and get the next person to pay more than a couple of $ over spot then that person will have gotten burnt as well but at least you got your money back and hopefully will spend it on blobs that don't cost more than a couple of $ over spot. .
I did pay over spot (and i never ever pay over spot) but it looks so cool and crisp and i was hoping the original box would help with price on the flip. I paid $145 NZD or $131AUD. If it is a case of just handing off a bad purchase to "another sucker" then i may hold and wait for silver to move. I do not want to sucker anyone. I sell my stuff at fair prices (related to spot) because i buy them super cheap through second hand dealers and op shop and they should know market pricing. I am sure i have mentioned this before , but a well known over priced second hand trader in my hood had a shed load of silver a while back and i bought the lot for around 1.5kg of sterling for $100NZD off them , lol. Yet the same shop has plated silver THAT LOOKS PRETTIER sell for 10X the price, or old mugs for $15 each. I felt good on that buy as they rip people of when buying electronics from clearly desperate people . EDIT: I just had a look a Jim's links and i am not feeling to bad about this purchase now. Thanks for going to the trouble Jim. Spelling makes all the difference. Id best pay a little more attention when writing scripts
Went pretty quickly at $139 AUD each, shipped -- naked & apparently not in as nice a condition.. http://forums.silverstackers.com/to...they-garretts-and-200-gram-mygold-silver.html Don't mind mmissing -- not much of a higher-premium bar guy.
I wonder how such things surface in NZ. Got one too, but not as pretty and the box had a lot of wear. ah and I paid less ))
