    Quick questions:

    Diamond Stacking?
Crap idea? Need too much $ or can't be done?
Can it be done without egg on ones face?
Easier to ask here than in pm, spanner?!

    Nope, not in the industry.
Am in the situation where I will be buying one & wondered if I could buy 2 spare & stack but don't know if it's possible to turn a profit. It's my inner stacker that wonders.

Trying to dig up the mentioned thread..
Is it the one about the 2000% mark up?
My only other option is to invest that extra fiat into metals (as we do) & await the enivertable currency crash but won't diamond rise & fall in price consecutive to all that? Sometimes I wonder if it is worth storing anything except necessities & consumables if when we profit take or "cash out" we don't have anything thats a better thing to buy.
    Off to bed SM

I don't know squat as you can tell. Couldn't grade a panda let alone a stone.
IGL cert & lazer ID'd stones. Are they just a rip off or does that hold any merit?
Selling to? Maby son or grandkids gifts if they rise in price. Thinking something like this might increase in price. I am prob wrong & the slow release of diamonds will maintain supply etc but could you save some by buying in advance?

Eg 280865899242 eBay (omg! Do I get her one off eBay!....) but maby in 2 years this will cost 400% more if the theory of artificial price is correct, 2500% premium next year?

Got to sleep now mate (1:28am).
I guess the answer is they are a rip off (no doubt) but one of those things you need to purchase once (sometimes multiple!) during life to follow the herd & fit in. I have an uneasy feeling swapping fiat for anything other than pm.. That helps me sleep.
Obviously this silly diamond keeps me up at night.. Dam, if she loves me like she says what's wrong with the lolly ring I made her at the zoo?! It's just a rock!?
Check this thread 1st thing in the morning
    Cheers

Hi, Diamonds are only semi precious and the prices are already overly marked up in most cases.

I have a good collection of diamonds but i would say MANY other gems have a better investment potential..

As always you need to know the craft and have sources to purchase at good prices, and have a product that is desirable and has a market.

maybe try other gems.. but yes you can do well in any market... just need the skills to pay the bills
