American stores seem to offer a lot more deals and lower premiums. Australian websites have huge shipping costs and much higher premiums. Anyone suggest a site other than this site to buy any silver? Even deals like random 1oz coins for $x over spot would be great.
http://www.goldstackers.com.au/store/ http://www.perthbullion.com/ These are the two best dealers to buy from in AUS in my opinion Gold Stackers currently has low premium silver for about $3 per oz above spot This forum, along with these 2 sites would be your best sources of silver in Australia
Depending where you are and what you are after will lead you to different domestic bullion shops here. This is the best place to get items and if you stick with good feedback stackers you have good piece of mind you are getting what item item is supposed to be compared to other private sale means i.e. scumtree and fleabay for example. If it's not for sale here or can't get a response from a wanted ad there are a few large bullion stores that can cater for you. (I'm sure others will add in as I don't know them all) I'm in WA so Perth bullion, Perth mint itself and there is a small ABC office here. Perth bullion is my first stop overall if I can't get it here. Brisbane - has bullion deposit Melbourne - has Melbourne mint, ABC, Gold stackers Sydney has - kjc bullion. I'm sure there are alot more but these are the main ones that crop up. Also keep an eye out for coin shops, auction houses etc as they will also have certain coins of high PM bullion value also.
You're probably best not comparing the market here to the US market. It's a completely different animal, with scale being only the most obvious point of difference. It's the same with just about anything: why can't we get motorbike parts for US prices, or books, and so on. With US postal charges so high now, buying out of the States is often not an economical solution either (assuming they'll even deal with an Aussie buyer).. It's just the way it is. The best deals are on Silverstackers, no doubt.
