Riiiight.... The electorate is going to vote for Bill Shorten. If he survives the Royal Commission.

    Typical socialist self delusion.

They should stop believing their own propaganda.

I'm not saying that we shouldn't be taxed more, I'm saying having the stuff we have costs money and if we want to continue having it, the stuff needs to be paid for. We can choose not to have some of that stuff and not spend money on it but then, obviously, we wouldn't have the stuff.

A structural deficit means we don't pay enough tax to meet our expenditure.

We can either pay more tax, spend less or do some combination of both and we need to do it on a permanent, on-going basis.

    absolutely

Better than the clowns we have in currently

Shafting the rich to give to the poor to give back to the rich to make himself look like he gives a Sh!t about the average man.

implementing a "levy" that will never actually be removed whilst claiming he did not break a promise of no extra taxes. ( and giving it back generously to the rich through teh PPL scheme )

this Abbot government will not get back in, Newman has an even slimmer chance.

He has lied and broken promises and is a joke.

IMHO, you don't have a problem with Abbot, nor the Liberals.
You have an issue with people who have more than you.
    Entitlement mentality.

    Hardly

I ahve a problem with Abbot and the Liberals

nothing to do with what I have vs others. I dont like Them breaking promises and increasing taxes and healthcare and cutting spending and tinkering with the pension after he promised not to.

Gillard lied, broke a big election promise and was punished for it big time last election ( there will be no carbon tax )

    So will Abbot be.

I like Team Red and Yellow Now

I hope Clive sticks the boot in Abbot.

Court Jester you are wilfully blind. You babble about lying politicians yet you don't mention that Gillard was hated for her colossal lies. You carry on about economic incompetence yet you ignore the worst economic performance in the history of the nation under Labor. Your posts have have nothing to do with any understanding of reality, you just hate the Liberal Party and you hate people that are successful. Hence my question: Are you worried that the current government will stop your dole payments?

It's like the socialists here have no capacity to see the failings of the last government at all. The current government may not be all that and will make some bad decisions but it beggars belief that they blame the nearly 200 billion dollar debt that we have on Howard/Costello, It's like they were stoned for 6 years and don't understand why the electorate threw Labor out in a landslide defeat. They also think that Abbott is unpopular, a joke really, it's just that the lunatic left are the loud minority walking around screaming obscenities and posting on social media sewers and thinking that the rest of the world agrees with them when in fact the vast majority are disgusted with them.

So, I guess China's crackdown on defiance of domestic lending policy, in China, is Abbot's fault too?! :|

If they can clearly demonstrate a return to surpluss within the said timeframe AND they do their own belt tightening and cut crap like foreign aid AND parent leave scheme, then I would support it and pay it. Best we swallow the bad medicine now and get it done with rather than join the rest of the G20 and allow higher debt to GDP ratios.

But what happens once a return to surplus? Labor gets elected and the wasteful spending starts and we run this merry go round all over again.

It already looks like it won't pass in the Senate so I doubt it will go through in it's current form anyway. Maybe they will slug anyone on >$150k with double levy to make up for it? What I'm worried about is bank deposit tax/levy or Super levy in the coming years. After the Cyprus debacle you know they won't stop at nothing.

If the socialists knock back the budget, it means a new DD Election.

    Not sure they want that.

Of course not. It was quoted as an indicator or economic times over which the government has ZERO influence and as an example of the sort of event, over which the government has zero influence, which will impact the Australian economy in a way over which the government has zero influence.

I have pointed out several things in this thread that I think are bad ideas from the Abbot government so, no, I have the ability to see both sides unlike the Socialists here that deny history. And, yes I do believe that are already doing better. Shrinking government, denying corporate welfare to big companies, stopping drownings at sea, getting rid of insane wasteful grants and unproductive green schemes.

Anyway, I don't have to argue, the vast majority of the adult population of Australia were smart enough to throw Labor under the bus and Shorten is in a blind panic about the Royal Commission and trying to distance the ALP from the unions and the ALP is broke. They are toast. If the Liberals lose the next election it won't be to the ALP, even their own MP's and leader have publically stated that their party is in dire trouble and needs to be restructured.

SMH... Riiiggght.... No names mentioned, just lots of "Senior Liberals", "other Liberals", "Sydney Liberal MP's".....

Julie, can't you spot the press fabricating lies when you see it? If that article is to be believed there are a flood of Liberal MP's flocking to the Herald, a paper that is in the pocket of the Left and spilling their guts. No Liberal MP would make quotes like that to the SMH. Those quotes are all made up, and no-on can verify them. The SMH is as debased and duplicitous as Murdoch's papers.

And isn't the deficit tax still just a rumour anyway that is being promoted as fact by the Left wing press?

Actually if you actually read my post the one directly above, I specifically mentioned Gillard got punished for the broken election promises ( there will be no carbon tax)

typical Right wing wanker reading and comprehension skills at work
