yea 1440P is the sweet spot, I've been running that for about 3 years now. I can never go back to 1080P either and 4K everything is too small for my liking. regarding "AMD graphics card get faster with time due to drivers" same is true with Nvidia. For the price point my 1070 has been great for 1440P @ 60fps and i got it over 6 months ago.
eh by the time that happens the 2080 / 3080ti will be out im happy with my SLI 1080ti's currently have my new x299 board and 7800x coming in soon as well I tried a ryzen and it both sucked and blew.
What didn't you like about Ryzen? I haven't used either, but i like how the 1700x uses much less power and gives around the same performance. (95w vs 140w) I'm still using a i7-2600, which has been awesome. It was Intel's last great launch and there has been almost no advancements per core since then, over 6 years ago . I'm still looking for a real reason to upgrade. I'm happy with my single gtx 1070, so i don't need more PCI lanes. My Samsung 850 Pro is fast enough, so i don't need M.2 and 32GB of ram is enough, so i don't need more memory capacity. All i want is much faster CPU speeds! preferably per core.
it was slower than the 4+ year old 6 @4.66ghz core x79 system it replaced and m.2 drives are worth it and worth the upgrade
