The 2013 $2. roll ( Queen's Coronation 60th. Anniversary ) has now cracked over $12,000. on SCAMBAY .... ... and I sold all mine ( 5, I had ) for $600. each.
$2 sales from RAM to banks are interesting. Kind of suggests that the RAM isn't keeping up the $2 demand even with all the coloured ones. Very little demand for $1 or 50c. Reading between the lines, the RAM probably has a stockpile and no need to mint these until Charles' effigy. In sold, really only 'buy it now' at full price are real sales. They generally require immediate payment. The auctions and offers are often fake. A seller buys from themselves and doesn't pay, or does pay after offering themselves $1 It's become pretty obvious that Australian coin dealers are active manipulating ebay solds and playing stupid games on facebook. It's working though.
You can't 'fool' Ebay these days. I doubt Ebay wouldn't detect a scam, and the 'seller' would have their account closed.
One example. When I sell, it's pretty frequent to have non paying bidder who bids an unusually high price. These are recorded in the 'sold' category. These are typically from "Australian" accounts with 1 or 2 feedback score from 1 other account. They are fake. There was one example though who had a history of buying and selling from between the same group of accounts with little effort to conceal beside one account saying location "Cairns" and another "Melbourne". Probably no attempt to spoof IP or user agent data. Probably real address so it wasn't rocket science to find this person was a retired man in Bendigo. Reporting to Ebay did FA (although these accounts now appear inactive https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/mellonscum) Hard to believe those $400-500 ebay sales for 2022 poppy, isnt it? When almost continously for the last 24 hours there's been a Buy it now available for $150.
At least one eBay seller understands the crazy prices are a joke, but do the bidders? "THIS IS JUST THE RECEIPT- YOU WILL ONLY RECEIVE A RECEIPT OF THE PURCHASE OF THREE RED POPPY COINS GOOD LUCK! this is a joke btw" See: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3346161...S4yQEKurtFV7bAEawgFSBtb/o=|tkp:Bk9SR6T6yM2IYQ
