Hi all, Just picked up these Pandas for the Zoo. I got the 1/10 Gold 82 for $180 and the 89 Silver 1oz for $89 (which was free cause I used free amazon points) How did I do?
Weighed the double sealed 89 and it came out to 40.0 - 40.1 grams. I checked because he was a little loose in the capsule. I know some years do that but this is my first silver 89
Congrats yingYang4. I like the 89 design, and picked one up myself the other day for about the same price as yours. [Posted before I saw your last message; mine rattles a bit. I can't remember what mine weighs, I'm away from home ATM]
Hi Reggie, Thanks for the kind words. Good to know that they rattle a little bit. Thought it was a good deal, the lady that was selling it on Amazon said she purchased it about 10 years ago and put in her safe. She was very prompt in responding to my questions. Cheers!
Thanks JC88888888888! I called my LCS source (sorry gentleman never saying where) Saturday morning and they said they just got that one in, said $180 and they could in the safe for a couple weeks if I couldn't make it. I said thank you, but will be there this afternoon. So happy to add this beaut to my collection at such a great price.
It sure is jc88888888 . Same place I picked up my 1998 5 coin set for $3425 and 2 1/20 OMP 83 Gold Pandas for $95 a piece.
So I would say everyone agrees that the 89 is an authentic double sealed Panda yes? Just want to make for certain so I can leave the nice lady on Amazon a positive feedback.
yep 89 looks fine IMHO, you are one blessed guy!! ying yang ............ to buy those rare items for those prices most guys wait a lifetime for 1 of those deals to come their way ,you already got 2,if you see anything you dont want and would like to flip it ,let me know
Hi I'm sorry if I'm raining on someone's parade but is $89 for the silver really such a good price? Graded NGC/PCGS MS 69 s on ebay are ending between $105-$110 right now. $89.00 + $20.00 NGC Fee = $110 and no guarantee you'll get a 69. Not to mention all the paperwork, $8.00 invoice cost, postage and your time & effort. However I must admit, I'm not familiar with prices on the gold coin.
jc888888888, thank you as always bud. Felt the 89 was good to go as well but nice to have a second or third opinion from members like yourself. To think I been in the Panda collecting only since last September. I do feel very blessed to keep finding these rarer Pandas at near spot prices. Will always keep you in the loop my friend on rare finds , if I can acquire a double you will get first chance at it without question. Silverfever - You're not raining on my parade at all. I know how low you can catch some on the bay for with patience but I had free credit from trading in stuff to Amazon that I got for free anyways , so the 89 Panda was absolutely $0 cost to me. I don't intend to send in for grading cause it is in the OMP and I prefer it that way for my won collection. The only reason to get graded is if I was flipping. The 1982 Gold is currently ending on average of $300 or more in OMP on the bay and on ***EX it is selling for $429.95. So I would call that a great deal. Take care.
Thanks moosician. The best part about it is $180 cash , not tax, no tracking. Just a firm handshake and a thank you.
Paid $3425 cash. Still scheduled for evaluation according to NCS order status. The invoice verification date is 8/13/2012. Should I worry it's taking so long to be evaluated or just the normal and slow process?
normal sloooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww process no worries you are probably 10 days away , it is like waiting for a baby to be born yes ying yang I really am excited for you , tell grandpa jc8.s the grades first
That's a coincidence, I sent my first batch of Pandas to NCS, nothing special, but it's also showing an invoice verification date of 8/13 & awaiting evaluation. I'm happy to see I'm not the only one.. I was beginning to think there was a problem. Anyway good luck, and I hope your coins are all MS70's
