I know, I know .... 'There are no known originals' .... However, I acquired some time ago, a 'coin' that is reputed to be a copy made from the die housed in The Mitchell Library in Sydney ( c. 1950s ) I had it tested once, and it came back as 55% gold NOT expecting to sell this piece 'sight unseen', thus, welcome genuine interested parties to meet f2f for inspection of this item. Considering what I paid for it, I'd like to see a firm offer of $1,500. ( for the two items shown ) ( starting to find ways to get photos added ) Second item is another type of copy - to show finer detail of the gold piece.
Anybody interested in these ? The copper was purchased at $150. about five years ago. The gold copy, aside from historical interest at being an 'unauthorised' copy made by a staff member of the Mitchell Library ... I welcome any 'test' to identify the purity and thus weight of the gold. A price can be negotiated from there. Would need to be a f2f meeting around Sydney somewhere ...
