Yeah, spam is a huge problem. There is software that automates this process (even solves captchas). The solution available for Xenforo is simple and has worked amazingly for me on my forums (including pmbug.com) for years now. I don't know if anything similar is available for SMF though.

Understood. I didn't use a throwaway address and in fact got an email from your forum saying my account had been approved (prior to trying to log in and being told it was not approved).

I just thought it might be a good time to start using this site. Dead on arrival?

Feedback migration to silveroos has been completed.

There were a few members who had a different username on silveroos.com (and I don't know your new username). If you're one of them and your feedback does not appear to be imported, please PM me your silveroos.com username.

I hope Office 365 is the version you're using and you're not using a "compatible" Excel file format.

These guys sell software that can brute force a 2016-2019 Excel doc at the rate of 12,000 passwords/sec... with just one RTX2070 video card. It scales.

    https://www.elcomsoft.com/aopr.html

Instead, I'd recommend a dedicated password manager that is open-source and been around for a while. I use KeyPass, but there are a lot of other options.

    https://keepass.info/
    https://sourceforge.net/projects/keepass/

I'd also recommend getting into the habit of checking URLs before clicking them... it's possible to paste a legit looking URL, but have it send you somewhere else.
    Eg:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoft-365?rtc=1

It’s on a device that never has or never will see the internet. Otherwise solid advice, I’m not tech savvy at all just stick and bubblegum shit that works just enough to keep me alive

    Yeah, nice!

In the ultra-paranoid realm, you would still be worried about someone getting physical access and copying the file :p ... but yeah, that's extremely unlikely!

Yep I use NordPass which works well for me...the free version does everything I need it to...add the extra optional two step verification and it's good to go ;)

Two step is solid, but I ran into issues trying to log into social media accounts (mainly to deactivate them) and since I hadn’t logged in for years my numbers and phones had changed and I spent weeks summoning old laptops and phones to dig it all back out

I've got a few requests, so I'll schedule another round of feedback transfers across.

Anyone else needing this, please leave a comment in this thread.

I've imported feedback for everyone who has requested it (in this thread and via PM). Let me know if there's any problems.
