There are not many informations avialable on these exeptionally and rare coins so i want to share all informations i have. I also hope to get more informations from the stackers here to complete missing informations. First i want to say sorry about the english, i am from Germany. Cohorts All i know is that only from the year 2000 until the year 2009 coulored roos were minted. From all other years i never have seen a coin. Maybe other years also exist. Mintage and CoA Year 2000 and 2001 - 500 coins were minted Some were sold at Downies. They came with a presantation box and a certifcate. Struck by the Royal Australian Mint. This coloured Kangaroo is part of a limited edition of only 500 presantation coins Year 2002 and 2003 Because of the similar design of the 2001 and 2002/3 coins i assume that the mintage ot these coins also are only 500 I have not seen a certificate yet. Year 2004 ... 2009 unknown mintage. All years were also sold by german dealers. They all came without a certificate in capsule. Design There are to different forms of the designs. The 2001-2003 are similar and the 2000 and 2004-2008 are similar. The 2009 one comes a bit closer to the 2001-2003 ones. Have a look at the following pics. Sometimes you can find some at auction platforms. Most easily to find are the 2008 and 2009 ones. Prices The last 2008 and 2009 i was able to buy were around 46 (63 AU$). Coloured versions of 2000, 2001, 2002 were privately commissioned by an Australian dealership. (read Dow....)They were coloured overseas (Germany I am told) and gained for the dealership quite a few legal hassles as they were legal tender that had been tampered with. They are not considered to be official. The following years pictured in op are all aftermarket "colouring" and to the best of my knowledge are also unofficial. The only official RAM mint coloured roo coins were in 2009 and is a coloured three coin proof set of the artist series. And the Mombassa one depicted is not the official coin from that set. 2003,2004,2005,2006,2007,08, & 09 all had an official release of selective gold plate usually the roo but not always.

What is a reasonable price for that 2009 three coin artist series coloured set? I've noticed a few pop up on ebay for 230-255 plus shipping. Are these worth picking up? the Rolf Harris colour coin would be somewhat sought after no? p.s. apologies to Matthew 26:14, i only just realised i posted the same ebay link but i can't edit my old post..
Probably not; these were selling for $170 or so a week or two back in the trading forums and were still moving slowly. I've got a set myself (@$170) and while the packaging is nice and may have some numismatic value later on they currently shouldn't be worth 255 for sure
