Probably because Hong Kong has healthy citizens.
    *Non-Western diet.
*The physical and built environment where public transportation, sports centers, grocery stores, shops that sell commodities of basic living, and private health care clinics are readily available
*The geographical location with subtropical climate that does not give rise to frequent extreme weather
*The existence of a public health care system that gives people adequate health care, regardless of lack of means.
*The average age of death 84.68

Perhaps just charge them more everyone else less.
Instead of having a WHO, we need a GFYC.

    Edit:
Just so there's no confusion, the C is Beijing

I doubt China will suffer much more than average global, they are more likely to ride it out better than America or Australia

As for how well Australia do , depends on Chinese government wimps. If China decides they don’t need political crap from Australia, they can block most imports from Australia, without batting an eyelid. It’s not like they must have Australian agriculture or minerals.

beside they have much reduced need for ore and food is plentiful around the world.

My pie is very large :)

of course if one is average middle class, a larger piece of smaller pie might be small indeed, but I’m not in that category.

yup they can and if you just look at only Australia being pissed off and only Aus stopping trading, then your right.
but we are the 14th highest buyer of Chinese shit. Just behind Russia who are at 13# which isnt something to sneeze about. So It would Hurt China
    USA 1#
    hong kong#2
    Japan #3
    UK#9

all those countries China has pissed off. and a fair few in between #3 and Aus at 14.
They cant afford to have Boycotts of some sorts from all those countries.

You have the Japanese already offering to pay their companies to move manufacturing away from China.
And into other countries, if others do that which the USA companies are considering. we may not have to continue to export our resources to China to the same extent as we currently are. as manufacturing could move to other developing nations

Aus does have good political relations with many Countries in that top ten list, There would be a bloody good chance Australia right now is Playing the diplomatic game with those countries to push for alternatives. we have In the past negotiated some very big trade agreements with those countries that included China. So there is a good chance if enough of those disgruntled countries increase, some of those deals could be pulled in with Australia's Influence, And that would seriously hurt China .

It's simple, if I know you can't get supplies from my competitor, I'm going to double my price to you. Unlike oil, copper can be easily hoarded and are not perishable like beef and soya bean.

If I'm Australia, I will hoard the copper and make a killing.

Mines don’t make money hoarding ore.

    Such as?

We’re good at digging holes in the ground and growing things. They’re our two most profitable ingredients.

I must say the crust on the smaller pie looks better to me :) But i guess it depends on what you want to do with the pie.

Hoarding can be profitable. Look how much money they made hoarding masks.

The value of ore is worth more than the metal itself.

companies went to China to open plants there to have markets there,
when they moved out, there is no more market for them
the reason in the first place they went there is for that market, now they are willingly just give up that market ?

East Philippine sea is much bigger, why they need the sun set sea, when they have the sun rise sea, they would be indifferent when fishing is not a work any longer

Too many people think that west sphere is be all and end all lol.

    There are always alternatives.

Much like one of suppliers, who were saying crap to the media... so we stop buying from them....we used to buy $25millions worth of their products...they are no longer in business

I guess you work for a company that relies on shit from China?
if so sucks tobe you if your company doesnt start looking else where.

because this move away from China is going to happen for allot of countries, Including ASEAN countries who are looking more and more attractive.

This conversation about moving away from China is happening in a hell off allot of countries right now, this isnt exclusive to Aus.

I think you should have said, too many people think China is the be all and end all.
    Especially corporate Aus
