    Yes many countries do it, just not that the scale China wants to do it. At that scale it could have unintended consequences. Hence going full retard.

    The cat? The food on sale or the people. They are selling fried fish cake, very popular throughout SEA and East Asia, Japan and South korea as well. They are Indonesian Chinese. Lots of them on Bintan, not referring to the tourist spots.
