Have no idea where I should be posting this..

I wanted to know how many of the kiddies here in the 90's had a Tyco Scorcher RC car.. you know the one that was awesomely fast and did those insane 360's! I had the red one and I'v been thinking of trying to track one down again..

Anyone else had one of these or a particular childhood toy they have thought of getting again?

I'm a huge Games Workshop fan and have been for years... Definitely not a money earner - but I've learnt to trade miniatures to satiate my own addiction for toy soldiers or 'plastic crack' as we call it.

A good example of how to make money from it is the limited edition game sets they occasionally sell - I once bought the original card edition of a game called Space Hulk in the 90's - not such a big game but the limited edition they made a few years ago complete with miniatures for it sells for over $500 these days - which is rather handy when you have a few of them... :D

I remember the RC scorcher adverts - they had a vast selection of cars which flipped, but the Scorcher is the one that sticks out - think it had both blue and red bodies for it if I remember rightly...

Sure we'll have the dinky enthusiasts coming along soon...

Mid-late 80s, I remember the Jet Hopper. Every kid and his dog wanted one. Was yours similar?

    http://www.backtotheeighties.net/jet-hopper-turbo/

With a young son, I recently purchased several childhood toys (and on the hunt for more) as i want him to experience what i used to play with when young.

    these include:
-Crossbows and Catapults with the dragon and cyclops accessories.
-James Bond Slot car set (new version though)

    On the look out for:
    -Matchbox army men
    -Dinoriders

Wish i kept my old ATari, NES, SuperNES and handhelds. Only have Donkey Kong II.

Also on the lookout for a train set NOT made in China. I think MArklin might be the only choice these days unless vintage.

Some of this vintage stuff is getting expensive though!!!

    :)

My elder brother had a black jet hopper...many that puppy would chew through batteries :)

And the NiCad rechargables didn't keep up with storebought batteries

Amazing what topics come up here at SS!

I also had the red scorcher 9.6v, that was the best rc car ever, nothing else came close.
Played so much I wore out the spur gears on the motors, tracked down some dodgy 'backyard toy doctor' got it fixed and got a silver shell too, since it was impossible to buy a silver 40Mhz one.

I would get another in an instant if I could..

    Meanwhile..

I remember the old TV ad for the Commodore 64...

"are you keeping up with the commodore, 'cause the commodore is keeping up with you."

I hated the smug look on the face of the kid in that ad....'Nyar nyar...I've got a computer' :/

We got an Atari 2600...and it was pretty 'Boss'. On cold winter nights I Still get cramps in the base of my thumb from monstering the joystick :)

    ^ Get outta here! ^

    I remember those...

I used to buy and sell a lot of board/RPG games in my teens, actually had over 10 copies of this...

    http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/3163/doom-of-the-eldar

I used to buy those for 7.50 GBP - thats a 1000% profit if I'd have held them now... :(

Another goodie to look out for is Space Hulk...

    http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/54625/space-hulk-third-edition

As it happens, I've got one of these going for $150 if anyone wants it - still shrink wrapped and its only gonna appreciate in value... :D
