Does anybody have a curve showing the true value i.e. has there been any growth against inflation or purchasing power?

This would be the graph to see - comparing two currencies to Gold doesn't really revel anything other than there strength/weakness to each other - my guess is a graph of coffee beans in USD and AUD would look pretty similar.

Following the above request from PradoEagle - anyone have a chart like this? maybe in Ag as well?

I was interested in those three peaks at $1500.Each time pulls back a lot less.
Might break thru' considerable this time.

3rd time is a charm....I brought silver again on the 3rd dip, which has just now gone up again.....

Of course, it still comes back to luck....Here's hoping Gold will push through.

scary to think to think what it could go to if the aussie dollar tanked to 65 cents again.

Went over a dollar fifty at one stage I seem to recall. Not sure if that was the 2008 spike. Would go a lot higher than that, I imagine, unless oil tanks as well.
