    Great!
Between welfare and Central Bank handouts, I will be able to quit working, retire, and surf my days away!
    Bring it on!
I'm starting to warm to the socialist philosophies. If you can't beat em, join em. :)

Well fuck me, if money is going to be worth so little that they can hand it out for free, then there is only one thing we should be doing....

    WTF?!

If I am on a lower income I have to spend all my money on bills and food, I have no money to put aside in savings, I am not 'prone' to consume, I am forced to consume, I have to spend 100% of my earnings just to keep going.

If I am doing a bit better I can chose to put a percentage of my money into savings, but I would still be prone to 'consuming' the same amount of bills and food.

I agree they should stop handing out money to bail out businesses who are too big to fail.

But to be honest, I think the $800 that Rudd gave to me nearly made a big difference, if it could just have been a bit more I think we could really have saved the economy.

Just means more disposable income to spend on precious metals.

Enough people are aware now about these things, that if cash just gets blindly printed and handed out, people will be ditching it (spending it) en masse as fast as they can. And we all know where that leads...

It's like the people who wrote the article have never heard of social media...

The big bubble to end all bubbles?

    Why?
No need to do anything when they hand it out for free?
And if they want to narrow the "woe-is-me" gap in this way, then the less you have by being productive or saving, the more you will get FOR FREE! :)

I think the western socialists are basically out of answers at this point.

The naturally deflationary tendency of the economy is basically disastrous when you have extreme levels of debt.

...And an interest rate that can't be pushed any lower.

They want to inflate their debts away at the destruction of people's wealth. At what point does the gubbermint point a gun to people's heads at the local department store forcing them to buy 7 breadmakers?

When I did economics one of the laws was that consumption rises with income.

Perhaps they mean to say that poor people usually need to spend all their money to stay alive.

But I digress; as noted the inflation from this idea would destroy the currency and that is what 'they' are after, since their assets tend to be real - real estate, collectables, gold.

When my coronation is finally confirmed, I'll eliminate all unsecured debt, ban unsecured lending, tax everyone at 10% with no deductions and hang the executive of the first bank or business that tries to be clever about the rules.

The laws have changed a bit as the socialist movement for entitlement grew. :)
To give an example, from where I live - one of the most knowledgeable demographics in the country as far as welfare exploitation is concerned:

Me, married with kids. Neighbour, not (unemployed single mum with kids).
Me, work for a living. Her, not.
    Me, pay tax. Her, not.
Me, pay for housing. Her, not.
Me, pay for medicare + medical insurance. Her, not.
Me, not qualify for school kids bonus. Her, not.
Me, pay kids school fees. Her, not.
Me, run 2 cars so wifey can work. Her, not.
Me, pay petrol to get to work x2. Her, not.
Me, pay insurance on house, cars etc. Her not.
Me, pay full price for everything including phone, rates, elect, water etc. with no Govt. subsidies. Her, not.

    And the clincher:

Her, took kids on 2 overseas holidays last year. Me, not.
Her, bought brand new car last year. Me, not.

The welfare recipient is spending all their money to "stay alive"?

I used to have neighbours like that. Always getting new computers, big screen TVs, boats ... etc. They were both on some type of disability pension, not that you'd know it by looking at them. The clincher for me was when the Gov was handing out money after the financial crisis, they spent their handout on a new boat, while most mine went towards bills.

I suspect they were better off than most welfare recipients, because they already owned their house.

Shouldn't we first check what is true?
It's an article on Zerohedge remember? :D

    Tried to find the article
    http://www.cfr.org/search/?Ntt=cons...nks&submit.x=0&submit.y=0&Ns=p_date_published
    Would it be the bold?
    http://www.cfr.org/economics/proper-role-monetary-policy-addressing-inequality/p33194
Anyone able to find the Zerohedge claims?

It's sure that those quotes in
from scammer Tyler Durden should not be there.
    Because:
    http://www.cfr.org/search/?Ntt="Cen...sumers+Cash+Directly"&submit.x=13&submit.y=14
    delivers:
So that sentence must be from scammer Tyler Durden, that then used quotes to suggest different.
    But that's not new.

    Edit:
Should we now run to scammer Tyler Durdens bullion shop?
    I think I'll send a bulldozer instead. :D

You'll earn a rambling lecture for questioning him. If he says the article doesn't exist, it doesn't exist

I recommend reading the comments after the article. One of the writers explains it all. It's a beauty.

These guys are gonna go pedal to the metal...

I think I need to go for a run.
