I have this 2 1oz Koala 2007 carded, which has crunch up on all corners and without plastic envelope/cover. Would I better off slabbing it to NGC/PCGS or just sell it based on coin value alone?
to answer your question with a question. how do we get stuff slabbed in australia? who do we send the coins to?
You either sign up with NGC/PCGS, pay a membership fees and in return you get a bunch of vouchers for slabbing. The you need to pay both registered/insured postage to America (PCGS has submission office in Hong Kong for quicker turnaround). If not, some coin shop can submitt on your behalf (with a fee/cut of course). Universal Coin in Melb does it, Sterling and Currency in WA, and some others.
He has NO idea about grading coins And what coins are worth That's why you never see any of his stuff in coin shops . they have NO respect for him
Carded coins have to be perfect! Err...the card! Folk who collect carded coins only want perfect cards with no dog ears other-wise the coins are just bullion. A bit like folk who collect footy cards or Pre-stamped envelopes. If you have carded coins...they (The card) need to be perfect to get top dollar. H
Your 2007"Specimen" Koala's fetch top dollar. All of the 2007 carded coins are "Specimen grade" and rare. H
If you sell on ebay you can get over $100 for the 2007 koala coin on its own. Check out the completed listings.
