can anyone help me identify a coin http://images.mywork.com.au/uploads_photo_gallery/jewelauc/073.jpg They said it is a swiss coin but the lettering looks to be german, any help would be appreciated.
Looks like a takon/jeton, it can be a swiss coin ( part of that country speak German as well ). Google for the Klosterkirche and see where it leeds you.
Klosterkirche = convent/monastery church No real way of knowing where the place depiced might be unless you recognised it.
The lettering is very similar to a Swiss 20 Franc coin dated 2002 ( KM#99 ) This is 20g weight with 0.8350 silver and 33mm diameter. Although KM#99 depicts St. Gallen the opposite side states 20FR. Kloster and Kirche do not specify any place and are words like cloister and church. You need to help us by showing the other side and saying whether you think it is gold or other alloy. If it does not have a monetary value and date then I think it is a tourist's token but if gold don't throw it away.
