Conqueror UEV (Urban Escape Vehicle) Made in Brisbane under licence from the South African owned company Looks like an awesome camp wagon.... ask me what the 2nd hand prices are though
New is up to $67k list Towed a Kimberley Kamper around Australia 5 years ago - was a pig to tow, but pretty nice accommodation. Took it into the Bungle Bungles, along the Gibb and up to Cape Leveque amongst other places. Bloody heavy though.
A lot of Kimberley kampers out there but they are bloody expensive! Something like $80K I have been told! You can get a decent off road dual axel van for that.
Conqueror have a dual-cab cruiser camper under testing at the moment...but looking at the specs, apart from the "Sleeps 4" bit, there's nothing that can't be built up yourself (probably cheaper) from the aftermarket. http://uev.com.au/articles/uev-79-landcruiser-double-cab-prototype http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QteQsyt1NqE
There's another option for those DIY'ers Build your own box trailer set-up with a roof top tent... This is Horizon's version http://www.adventuretrailers.com/horizonvideo.html Not a big fan of cramped tents. Need something I can stand-up in these days. Often these days I find myself doing 'paperwork' on the edge of a camp-bed...a little difficult sitting cross-legged in a small tent
