Bust Dollar 1830

    It is a common error, since the edge was inscribed by hand using Castaing machine.
    When the machine is operated properly, one side of the coin gets "FIFTY CENTS OR" and the other "HALF A DOLLAR"
    On your coin the OR overlaps HALF a bit.

    Maybe. Is the pic of the reverse of the same coin?
    The 5 in 50C. looks different from all the other 1830 coins I can find.
    The upper part of the 5 should be short and straight, but in your pic it is long and curved.

    There are hundreds of varieties in this series. It may be very rare, or it may be not genuine..I cannot tell from the pics.
