The American station has probably been deluged by so many complaints by self-righteous prudes every time there's a hint of nipple that they are now ridiculously cautious. Remember the frothing at the mouth "omg think of the children" public response when people heard that Janet Jackson had a nipple and that someone might have seen it on TV if they had recorded it and replayed it and slowed it down and analysed it frame by frame. That initially attracted a $550,000 fine and the station later had to pay $3.5 million in fines for indecency for other instances of stuff the public complained about.
I complained that they showed Janet Jackson's nipple!
I also complained that they showed her singing...with Justin Timberland
Heads up Hockey is on QandA tonight to talk about the budget
Joe Hockey Show is on ABC
Such a good laugh to watch him.
I didn't see it, but am reading about it now. This bit seems like quite a burn:
But the most awkward moment came with an inquiry concerning one woman in particular: the treasurer's wife. A questioner wanted to know how he could accuse voters of being rorters when he himself trousered an allowance for living in a house owned by his spouse.
The audience wasn't buying his protestations that it was all entirely fair, which gave rise to the third apology of the night. "I'm sorry you feel that way." Perhaps not half as sorry as he was when he asked Tony Jones if the ABC paid him travel allowances. "They do," Jones replied. "But the hotel's not owned by my wife."
You can read the questions and watch the episode here
Summary from the SMH:
I actually thought he did a reasonable job overall. Much better than last year's efforts. Could have emphasised the difference about his approach to encouraging the supply side of the economy via production and innovation versus Ruddy's Keynesian approach to bullshit demand side indebtedness of the unborn more however (or better than he tried to do at least). Having Phoney Jonesy rabbiting his standard nonsense economics in his ear probably didn't help though.
Talk about Peter Slipper. Joe could teach him a couple of financial tricks. $250 a night to stay in his wife's home in Canberra.
Wonder why she bought a rental home in Canberra?.
Took the wind out of his sails when this was mentioned.
I would love to hear his answers with regard the TPP and also the bail in..Alas everyone is interested in whats in it for me questions.

That's the thing isn't it? Millionaire politicians and their millionaire wives never say, " hey I dont need the taxpayers money. I won't suck on the public teat this time. I'm doing OK "
Oh my god! Someone got travel allowance for travelling for work purposes!! The horror!
Fancy charging your husband to sleep in your house. The thought of it. :/

Fancy having an investment property (it's not a holiday home) that you didn't rent out. There's opportunity cost of not renting it to someone else.
Greed is the single reason the world is stuffed. It all boils down to 'more for me'.
If it were only that simple.
Renting your house out at a market price with the hope of obtaining a return on the embodied labour and capital is not greed. Would you rather that she rented it out to Bill Shorten and Bill Shorten's wife bought a house and rented it to Joe? She's paying the same income and capital gains taxes either way.
It's probably a pretty big reason (along with envy). But, as you know, greed is not self-interest.
