Howdy folks, Looking at a meet for the Brissy crowd in a fortnight... not a big high profile thing - just a good opportunity for local stackers to hook up and chew the fat. I'm looking at an evening meet - coffee/dinner and a little bit of trading if anyones anything pre-organised or wants to pre-arrange anything. Maybe some opportunity to talk about your fave coin or bullion bar... or talk about where you want to take your stacking... or get clued up more on SMSF options. I'd like to aim this at people who want to increase their knowledge of certain things, so when buzzing your EOI, let other people know if there's anything your looking for help with. I've missed the old pikey swap meets round at the pikey den... time to do something similar again! RD
I will come along as long as its not too far away from my place... I tend to get pretty lazy by a Wednesday night Not really anything I am interested in finding out.... will just come along for a bit of a lark.
I would love to meet up again but driving from the Gold Coast is a bit hefty. Will have to pass this time!
Great, Keen to come. Not in any need of specific info though, bet that I learn something though. Thanks RD
A few buzzes here already... I'll be visiting a few venues later this arvo - so will likely have something nice worked out for the weekend.
Midweek is no good for me but you guys have fun, I would love to know a bit more about SMSF but too lazy to do anything about it. You guys work out the details and you can present it at next month's gathering!
Sounds good to me Jis, I've been plagued with SMSF requests this week from my private clients, I'll be spending this weekend putting together some essential info from different sources.
Cheers! I am interested in the eSuperfund but most sources state that if you have under 200k it isn't worth it, personally if anyone is going to lose my money I think it should be me. Good luck and don't forget to pack some headache pills.
Don't believe the hype, ignore the sources, this is rubbish. I would consider anything $40k or over a good starting point for SMSF. YMMV. Of course having $5k only in an SMSF doesn't make sense, if you're yearly fees (auditing, storage etc) are 10% of the fund value. I looked at what my yearly management fee with previous super fund was, it was approx 2.7%. Then I looked at what my annual fees with eSuperfund SMSF would be ($699), PLUS storage costs. If this works out to less than what my previous 'management fee' was, then I would be ahead. AND THIS IS COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT of what I actually want to invest in. I could be in cash for all I care, but my yearly fees are still less than my old super fund.
Cheers, I read through the SMSF threads a while back but never took it any further because I had two superfunds at the time. I have rolled over into one now so I will have a better idea of what my fees are.
