    NOT!

    Dear Customer,

    We are experiencing an issue with our network this afternoon that is affecting banking services.

    We are very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing you.

    What is working?

    Our ATM and EFTPOS merchant services are working.

    Our debit and credit cards are working, however, some debit card payments may be affected.

    The CommBank app and NetBank are available with limited functionality.

    What is affected?
    • BPAY services including PAY-ID payments not available;
    • Cardless Cash not available;
    • Some in-branch services;
    • Some call centre services;
    • CommBiz log-on and some CommBiz payments.
    A small number of branches have closed but we are working to get them all reopened.

    Who can I speak to?

    We are experiencing higher than normal volume of calls to our contact centres which means there are longer wait times.

    Some of our contact centre services are also impacted limiting what services we can provide.

    When will the problem be fixed?

    We are working urgently to fix the problem and will have services restored as soon as possible.

    Where can I find more information

    We will keep you updated with regular posts on this page at commbank.com.au/info and on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

    With our sincerest apologies
    The CommBank team

    Heard some fool on the radio complaining he couldn't buy nappies.
    You could have if you had cash :rolleyes:
    I'm kinda hoping for a huge system-wide banking/credit card crash for like a week or something in order to really make people understand the value of cash.

    A spot of joy that may have been a flow on from this. I was at RPA hospital visiting an aunt. The ticket booth was non operational, probably CBA linked, and as such the boom gates for free. $10 in front. 1 round fifty!

    If we go cashless this sort of thing can be done at the press of a button to quarantine your money or for a host of other reasons.

    The only reasons a country would go "cashless" are to help increase tax revenue and have total control over the zombies. It is definitely not in the citizens'
    best interests to be forced "cashless". Unfortunately, most people I see at stores, etc, pay for everything with a card, even a cup of coffee. Many people I know say they never carry any cash on them.

    So for the most part, we are already "cashless" here in the US from a practical perspective. But for now it is "voluntary". Some day when it is mandatory, most of the population won't raise a fuss.

    The Gov will sell the idea as a cool thing, maybe have a few of the celebrities of the day promote it, and give the folks a free number of "dollars" in their account for signing up (maybe a few more extra if they get "chipped" like their pet dog and cat, so they can leave their wallets at home).

    There will be a time period to have your cash turned in for electronic dollars. Probably offer an amnesty of some sorts for tax cheats wherein they pay a percentage of it in taxes when turned in. After the time period, cash will be banned and they will pass laws making it a crime to use it in transactions (even privately). By this time private cryptos will be banned.

    The Gov and media will promote the idea that folks wanting cash are criminals and are stealing from the honest citizens (cashless ones), so the rest of the society will not be friendly to those promoting cash usage.

    Assuming the above is correct, people will find another means of "cash". I often joke that when the SHTF I'll swap food for sex; I expect other than metals, whiskey, wine, luxury goods, etc will become de facto cash.

    Some workers face pay delays as CBA works to clear 'backlog' after IT outage

    Workers expecting to receive their pay on Friday from companies that use the Commonwealth Bank to process payroll may not receive it in time due to the bank's lengthy outage on Thursday.

    "We have been working to restore the network systems overnight and they are now returning to normal," the bank said on Friday morning.

    "Some payments may be delayed appearing in accounts. We are working through the backlog as quickly as possible, but rest assured that all payments both into and out of customer accounts will be properly processed."

    And I cant believe he calls me a trump hater or a leftist. I've been a "far right wing extremist?" for years and proud of it, even voted for the sellout banker boy and I was fooled by his big city fancy talkin. Where else in the world can I legally buy weed, beer and guns on the same day? America baby yep.
    Get your facts straight mr.
