This will be the mother of all weekends!

So many irons in the fire. Sterling, Euro, USD, AUD, oil, silver & gold, I shudder to think what will happen with a Brexit. It may be the SHTF moment.

Didn't they run a poll and it showed that it's like they will remain in the EU? I'll see if I can find the link.

What if the shooting of that female British MP is a conspiracy to sway public opinion

I am curious if for some reason the vote was to leave, is that binding and means there will definitely be a split, or can the politicians still somehow cause them to stay and not honor the vote? I have not read up on this issue much other than the opinion polls so I don't understand the whole process of how the gov would act in the event of a leave vote to implement the change?

I think they will vote to remain so this is all going to be moot.

The downside is going to be fairly limited given what's transpired over the past week. Gold selling off in recent days is baking a remain vote into the cake "It's what Jo would have wanted" but I'm not expecting a huge sell off in gold, at least not now. If gold can hold $1240-$1250 after the vote I'll be happy and I'll probably buy some more gold stocks on the dip of company's I like on better entry levels. I'll still have pending orders for forex and put options for the FTSE100 in the off chance Brexit does get up.

Was it a few years ago that Italy voted one way, and the EU leadership said "don't be silly", and installed their own man?

    Possible in UK?

Or maybe they'll do a recount and miraculously the numbers will come out in favour of staying?

    Agree with Caput.

Gold sold off after the assassination to now be at a level where Remain is expected to prevail. I think Remain wins but there could still be another poll shock or two and even after the vote I see limited downside as regular gold fundamentals take control again (US interest rate policy and negative real rates)

I bought back in today. $1267 US is a good level for support IMHO. More upside than downside from here.

Like that great man, Stalin, said,

"I do not care how the people vote, just so long as I am the one COUNTING the votes"

I think so too. Dumb sheep will probably vote to stay or it is rigged voting.

Surely won't be a shtf lol, isn't shtf when there is no civilisation?

With the referendum I bet is Some will get richer, some will be poorer but for vast majority life goes on. It is only UK after all.

    You won't.

Although a great deal of UK citizens refuse to be ruled by a bunch of Bruxelles couch potatoes, the majority is not in favour of a (UK) financial meltdown.

But the rain is falling, the floods are happening, you need determination to get to a polling place and the Leavers are a little more determined than the Remainers in that regard I think.

Anyone know what the stay vote margin was in the first UK referendum on EC?

Will be interesting see what arguments was for and against.

I'm not betting against you, I'm betting with you.

If you want to take more on, I'm good for it.
