    Some financial commentators (refer Keiser 445) think that Japan is the next major basket case because of the size of the economy and the level of government debt.

    If Japan QE doesn't work and it has been tried before over the last 20 years, then it is all over for Japan. Then the flow ons take place,

    Japan is still a major trading partner with Australia. What ramifications will this have on Australia?

    I'd agree with you on that Errol. The recent sharp moves downward in Gold & Silver seemed to have be 'played' to coincide with the announcement of the yen's debasement to prevent precious metals appearing as a safe harbor for the Japanese to park their wealth. With Gold & Silver sales being reported throughout much of Asia to be at all time highs, I don't think this has worked.
