    Alex:
"You're saying 6 months from now it could be 3000?"
    Bob:
    "Yeah, 3000...3200."

Yes. Could be. Not will be as you stated :)
    Will be denoting certainty.

Bob was spot-on with that. It crept up to just under 50 before they decided to take action with margin requirements. You know that, I know that :)
    The butter was being sliced.

    LOVE THE BOB.

...and the END OF FEBRUARY hasn't come yet.
    We'll see.

JP Morgan had their own prediction. We'll see about that too :)

He says that gold could be $2500 by Christmas and could be $3000 by end of Feb 2012...

So what?? He may be right, he may be wrong, either way i dont see it as a prediction at all. more like a possibility given the information available at the time.

You guys keep clutching at straws!

The fact he says $3200 leads me to believe he thought $3000 was very probable. Heck why would he even say $3000 in the 1st place when we hadnt even hit $2000.

He aint getting off that easily :p

Maybe if he didnt make predictions with such certainty he wouldnt get so much shit from us. I guess its easy when he gets it wrong he can just say "it would of done what I say but they took the price down". That one can only work so much.

Old Bobby hasnt been right since he was 17.....time to hang up the boots me thinks :p

Bob doesn't care about your interpretation ;)
I've heard other commentators talk 3k, but haven't given it a date like that.
    We'll see.

We should chase up the entire interview to get a better feel for the entire thing.

    Yeah, that would be great.
Bob Chapman on silverstackers. To face the haters :)

    Actually he'd be great here.
Just to pop in now and then and make sure everyone's behaving. And drop the odd story or three :)

Could be, could be, could be. Anything "could be". It's not much of a prediction is it? I mean my wife "could" have a nice juicy steak waiting for me when I finish work. It "could" be served with a nice bottle of wine. She "could" present me with this week's winning lotto ticket before desert. She "could" avail herself to me in black stockings and suspenders, and a slinky little baby doll outfit promising me unlimited naughtiness for the rest of the evening. Yes this "could" happen (anything "could" happen), but it's so extremely unlikely that it's not even worth thinking about.

"Could" be .my big fat hairy arse!

I used to be a member of the "Bob Chapman" fan-club, but something isn't right about him and his set up. He is an old-guy, he does 40+ radio shows a week, plays golf all the time, and he has time 25+page newsletter 2x a week. I am 1/2 his age and I couldn't pull that off with the help of 3 people. Whenever anyone asks him if he has help, he says "nope".

Also, when a radio host or people who call in ask him a question about something in the International Forecaster, he usually can't answer (like he didn't even write it).

So, I still like to listen to him, but I currently assume that he is the front-man for a team of people who write the letter. Just keep listening and you will see what I mean.

    Jrandom,

Good points. Don't forget the millions of emails he replies to each week!

I think he said there were three people involved - his wife, him and another.

I don't think he is as knowledgable about specifics as he makes out.

However, I think his overall view of where things are headed may be reasonably right.

I suspect he gets info from various contacts around the world and so he may be part of an informal or even more formal "intelligence network".

well that sure didn't happen. short term price predictions discount the power of the cartel. Never discount the cartel

I've listened to quite a few interviews and still do, and I've never heard someone ask him if he has help. Can you point me to it?

    I've never heard this either.

He puts out the International Forecaster twice a week. He does a loootttt of interviews per week. You might be right. But remember he gets a lot of mail each week so some of that is used as content for the newsletter. He isn't short for things to write about.

I mailed him once to thank him for his work; I got a copy of the International Forecaster for free. It's quite a bit of work, I'll give you that. It wouldn't bother me if he got help. At his age, there's no way I'd have the energy to do what he does...or any age, really. He obviously must love it and/or think it's very important, especially given he has seen a lot of what goes on in the world.

My gut tells me he dictates the int. forcaster into a microphone.

    Gotta love BOB

26 Oct. Not the latest interview but happened to hear this the other day.

For Bob's gold and silver predictions, jump to 50:53. He still thinks 3k gold is possible by end of Feb if there isn't too much gov intervention.
"The bad guys are gonna be on the long side"

Basically his message is "it's all up" and he said "I don't care what the numbers are"
