Anybody noticed Black coin.... Looking like its going to explode tomorrow when money can get back into it. It just snuck right in there: currently has more volume then Doge and a very interesting system to keep the price up (inverse multipool) Also the first coin to fully switch from POW to POS I believe

So 69% of the market cap was turned over in one day? Sounds very manipulated.

    Agree.
Blackcoin has opened the doors to the shed, welcoming those who want to come in for a fleecing.
With less than a $2 million marketcap, I'll shove Blackcoin into the "junk status" alt coin category.

Coin has been subjected to attempted manipulation but underlying trend has been pretty stable. As stated by OP -the code is unique and the intermittent bubbling hasn't destroyed the coin. LT hold.

While its been a couple weeks and Digital currencies seem to be down across the board. With thousands of new currencies out and more every day the Digital currency section rarely has a post about a crypto currency. I still believe Black Coin will do well, don't forget the most recent dumping was a result of CryptoRush "losing" its users Black coins or approximately 1.5million stolen Black coins being sold off (Although I can't prove it was those and those alone, a lot did hit the market right after they were stolen as well as some smart investors also probably dumped as they knew the thieves would dump.)

For those not aware, Black Coin has switched from POW to POS and is fully POS now. So the mining multi pools act like automatic switchers (or some just stay on dodge or LTC) and mine other ALTs and trade them on the market for BC to then pay its miners. This allows Black Coin to always have buyers on the market. They were just finishing a closed BETA testing when I made the first post, then took a week to get it back up and running and since added SHA as well as already having the Scrypt. I believe there is about 3-5 Multi pools currently running for Black coin, which this style of mining is the only way that miners can actually increase the value of their coins. (as they pump up the buys and take coins off the market)

A little over 2 weeks, which currency would you prefer to be holding:

There is a lot of buzz about the official multipool coming out of beta and launching fully on Friday. If this actually contributes to buy pressure then I'll be singing black friday. Been a happy holder since 2000.

Actually.. I was worried when the news came out about the coins being stolen due to severe incompetence of cryptorush staff (who threatened to kill the blackcoin dev even though it was their own glitch!! - no joke, there are chat logs on the forum). Cryptorush has since been taken over by new owners, maybe due to the $50k loss from blackcoin? Nobody really knows.
This happened at the same time as Mintpal going down for maintenance for about an hour and BTC was dropping like a stone.
    I thought BC was dead.

It has risen and looks strong. Black Friday's a comin'! :D

Copied from the black coin thread on bitcointalk from one of the project developers:

    BlackCoinPool Profitability:

    04/07
    Wafflepool: 0.0043 BTC / MH
    Clevermining: 0.00437 BTC / MH
    BlackCoinPool: 0.00543 BTC / MH

    + 24% over Waffle, + 26% over Clevermining.

    04/06
    Wafflepool: 0.0044 BTC / MH
    Clevermining: 0.00391 BTC / MH
    BlackCoinPool: 0.0049 BTC / MH

    + 11% over Waffle, + 25% over Clevermining.

So if your looking for a profitable multipool, Black coin may be the way to go (not sure if that includes the bonus)

I've got to say that little Blackcoin is holding up better than I would have thought.
Since I made the bet with Heartastack, an extra $2 million dollars has been pumped into the marketcap, raising it above the average pump and dump alt into the "Tier II" pump and dump alts.
It's been headbutting the 4.6c mark for almost 2 weeks though, but this is an admirable performance considering it is at the time that BTC took a massive hit in its price.

Usually, a pump and dump alt will have two spikes before running itself into the ground, but Blackcoin bounces along quite well and you can fleece some newcomers if you buy the dips and take profits quickly.
I'm still cautious, because if we take the strength of Blackcoin being its "mining"/trading community, you could make the comparison with the strong support Doge had, which didn't stop its price getting flushed down the toilet.
Still, Blackcoin hasn't had a "massive-massive" spike like Doge to justify a price crash...yet.

The only thing when comparing to Doge is that that the mining community actually buys the coins off the exchange raising the price as the mintage is closed for BC. (other then the 1 % staking you get, although if on an exchange I think Cryptsy is the only one that pays out a stake, As far as I know Mintpal, Bter don't and Crypto Rush I am still waiting for my coins to be returned) Doge also didn't cap their mintage at 100 billion like the planned so they can just create new coins, where as Blackcoin you have to have to create new coins. The Miners for doge are competing to sell (or hold), where as BC the miners are collectively buying!

Funny how this got a new "Thank you" Even Earthjade has come around!

Black coin is the only coin on the list that one month on is still going in the inverse direction...UP

If you invested/speculated in BC when the OP was made in terms of USD you would be up 459% in terms of BTC you would be up 522% Which is pretty good since everything else went down

Mate, cheers for the above, it's great to see I'm not the only one riding this. To have 1/16th volume and 1/1000th the market cap of Bitcoin tells me it's the beginning. Coins are still fairly distributed. There has been no malicious pump.

Been really turned off by the elitist silver stacker crowd over this.

Hey heartastack, its been a good ride (other then losing a heap of BC on cryptorush) I think that Blackcoin still has a long way to go!

Don't let a few turn you off a great site, personally have met Hundreds of very nice people!

Also for all the miners on the site this is a great chart of what the days payout was from the Blackcoin mining pool and what that pay out is currently worth if you didn't convert it back:

What the turtle is that spike? Someone practically just doubled the market cap.
But, when you get spikes like this, you know what comes next. This could be the "massive-massive" I was talking about.
