Have a read of the article I posted about altcoins http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-47261-the-problem-with-alt-coins.html
I agree mostly with that article but I'm not sure it applies to what I'm getting at. As I understood it, they are saying other altcoins can not and will not compete with BTC because BTC is bigger and more popular which is based on nothing more than the fact it got there first. Fair point. But the same logic doesn't really apply, in my opinion when comparing AUD to BTC (if that is what you mean???). In the article he writes "Can anyone really expect to create something of value by rereleasing Bitcoin under a new name and with a few tiny changes to its source code?" . BTC is not a slight improvement to AUD, it is a totally different beast. If BTC fails, which it very well could, it will not be due to anything mentioned in this article.
I wasn't getting that in depth with it itching re: AUD et al  Just when you said transactions in BTC ultimately benefit BTC, it reminded me of the article I referred to. It said the same thing in there. It was posted in reference to the quote I took from you, nothing more.
I see this no different to the cafe at the international airport, that accepts 10 different currencies for their cup of coffee. The currency exchange rates are displayed clearly on a board before purchase. And they change daily (at a minimum). One day it may make sense to pay in AUD. The next day, USD. The third day, BTC.
Just sent off an application to a merchant service in order for our business to begin accepting BTC. What's happening to me????
Approved. This is being added to our website: If I can get 0.01 BTC in a quarter I'll be ecstatic. In fact 0.005 will have me mooning the authorities.
I thought I locked in a bitcoin yesterday, turns out not it's today... only went up what $50 overnight :-(
What do you mean by "Bring out the best in people?" The best of me has been on display for over over 3 years.
Article in the Melbourne Age today about a small business making off-road vehicles adopting Bitcoin: http://www.theage.com.au/small-business/entrepreneur/car-startup-hits-the-road-20131107-2x498.html
