Hi guys, This is my first post so please move it if it's in the wrong category. (I'm new to the forum so go easy on me ;))
Ok, so I've been buying silver for the past few years, and a little bit of gold. But have decided I want to stack a bit of something else in the safe (something cheap :)). I've been doing some research and have come across the metal "Bismuth"
My first question is, have any of you heard of this metal before? I did a bit of research and the stuff I found was pretty compelling..... I had a look this morning and there seems to be two guys selling it on eBay at the moment. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1kg-99-9...90669793263?pt=AU_Bullion&hash=item43ad450fef
This one has a very interesting read on the metal!!
So my question to all of you guys is pretty simple... Do you think it's a good idea to buy some?

Administrators note - this poster is the seller of the item in question

And the financial crunch comes and everyone runs to, bismuth or gold or silver? You decide.

Heard of it before, but just as with Indium, I felt the issue was liquidity.

Stack whatever you want to stack buddy. Don't listen to them above. Right now I am trying to stack Oxygen.

    See you on the Moon!

My question would be, if you needed to sell, who would want to buy ? (liquidity).
I can't see it being popular.

And I would strongly suggest you ignore this and listen to to them.

If you want to invest in metal then buy gold and Silver, no one cares about Bismuth.

There was a time when Platinum was looked down upon.
Depends how speculative you want to be. How much into the future do you want to invest?
Right now there maybe small reasons to stack non precious metals, but what about tomorrow?

I recommend researching into elements and their past, current and future uses. If you are convinced the trend will start picking up in demand then perhaps it is a good investment.

Nonetheless, only you can conclude how desperate you are for it to be liquid. Is being liquid something you can on-sell within 24 hours? Perhaps 7 days is still 'liquid' for you.

Anyway, I don't see no harm is stacking a little of this or that. Just don't go overboard and have all your eggs in the one basket.

Bismuth? I've never even heard of it so if I have $xx,000 to spend on precious metals I won't be buying Bismuth and I dare say you'll be very hard pressed to find a buyer. Especially if you're keen to sell

why the hell not? ask an honest question and you will more than likely get an honest answer. Now all you have is a bad reputation.

And would you have also been unhappy if a member here happened to buy your 1Kg bismuth, that has a spot of circa $27, for your price of $146.41?
