I like this Good Ole boy, he makes a lot of sense. Some of his public silver awareness videos are both humorous and informative.
not impressive, the smallest junk i have are quarters .18 oz. if it really comes to a bartering society and i cant make change then i will just take more goods. i wont shortchange myself.
Anyone in Australia considering stacking SHTF "small change" should look at the 50% predecimal coinage. You'll never have to argue the point with someone that any older sterling you've got is 92.5%, not 50%, and it is generally in better condition and usually the cheapest form of silver available. 44 post threepences make an even ounce, 22 sixpences make an even ounce, etc etc. Start bagging. Personally I don't stack for this reason, as I believe this is a less likely scenario to play out in Australia. I do however accept 1966 50c for payment of advertising on this site which is my dabble in silver barter
I got some 50% Kennedy's BU's the other day & not only are they cheap they're also quite stunning coins. I'm not really a SHTF scenarioist just liked the look of them & they seemed like a good investment.
What's he talkin' 'bout? I don't get imperial, How many fluid ounces to a furlong is it again ? I'll wager you a pound of dried bananas to a thripenny-bun we don't go SHTF.
Yep, spoken to him plenty of times myself as well. Really great guy. I loved this clip that he did too...
very USA SHTF stuff. For me it is 999 only but backed up with 66 50c. If I had a stack like his I would also have bullets & baked beans.
This quote must've planted a subliminal message in my head. I just bought 100 mixed pre dec florins today. Some of them are close to UNC & I checked the prices on eBay. I'm seeing a tidy profit on the horizon.
If SHTF.... wouldnt current producers make smaller denomination silver. like 1/2 oz through to 1/10oz for that reason? They will need to purchase silver somewhere and that would lead them to larger bars? PM are already selling 1/2 oz coins an RCM have released their special edition maple that is like 1/4oz. As silver gets more valuable the size of the rounds available will decrease as its more cost effective to sell smaller rounds for higher premiums. I have some pre dec stuff, not alot and all made in 1966 but I really think that the argument against larger bars is a little harsh, yes you will lose the premium selling them, but you paid less of a premium to buy them. The type of people that you will be conducting your transaction with will be generally of a different calibre also which has its advantages. In the end game, if there is one. I dont think anyone is going to whinge about holding 1 kg Perth mint bar instead of the equiv in pre dec. All winners here.
lol! Thanks for the offer! I try not to get in the habit of selling any appreciating asset once I have my grubby little mits on it. This will have to change at some stage.... Until then....
Unless that is, the "War Office" complains of storage logistics issues & you are forced to consolidate
