just want to share my recent experience with goldenjosh88. I've made a purchase of 5 gold coins and made payment on 20/01 and said it will be shipped tomorrow so 21/01 via express post. its been nearly 2 weeks and he hasnt replied to any of my PM's and has logged on in 3 occasions since last contact. Another thing i only took notice after is that he normally asks buyers to deposit in a NAB account but this time he givin ANZ account and saying its his friends gold.

Now im down nearly $8000 and much of it isn't mine but are for friends that wanted them. Has anyone recently purchased anything from him after Christmas till first 2 weeks of Jan and experiencing delayed shipping? Also after a bit of digging up information some people have complaint that bullion were fake but not from this site. So anyone that have purchased from him i would get it check out asap.

This is the only bad experience ive had on this forum and ive been trading on and off for 5 years.

Ive purchased from him before as well back in Oct last year with no problems either which id why i didnt think too much of it. If his account has been hijacked he should have at least inform Admin about it with another new account or something. Ive checked his background on google and it doesnt look good either. but i guess ill have to wait.

He has a Ebay account and has good feedback mainly from sellers. What worries me is his account ID History

    goldenjosh88 10-Aug-15 Present
    goldenjosh 19-Jun-15 10-Aug-15
    seloau0 30-Jan-15 19-Jun-15

This to me is always is a red flag. Too many Ebay ID changes usually spells trouble.

Why? And why would someone bother changing their ID for too? Does it get rid of their previous feedback history?

I would not read too much into multiple eBay accounts, eBay changes policy from time to time which will incentivise people creating a new account.

I hope slavaja you get this sorted and I know other members here would be keep to help, I think you have gone the right way about doing it as well.

I would listen to Golden ChipMunk, I trust what he would say and if you think about it does sound very plausable. Let's say your account was hijacked you would not really want other members to start making assumptions and posting every connection on the site for vigilantes to chase.

I know it would be extremely frustrating being out $8k but maybe now it's out in the open just give it a little bit of a chance for the truth to get worked out before anyone vilifies another member.

We are in Australia. Chinese New Year does not have impact here.
The cop shop should be open.

It's unbelievable how little support scammed people get from the authorities. I have only been scammed once online about 10 years ago for only $30-40 and even if it wasn't a significant amount it didn't feel good. Just for s**ts and giggles I though I'll ring the cops just to see what the procedure was. The lady cop that answered basically laughed and told me to be more careful.

Why don't we all become scammers like the rest of the scum? It seems to be profitable and you are immune from the law.

Ebay ID is a simple change in settings. ID can be change every 30 days and feedback is carried over into new ID. After 12 months all negative feedback is removed and account revert back to 100 % positive feedback anyway. There may be several reasons why people change their ID. It may be simply that they don't like the sound of their account name. The issue I have is that multiple accounts sends mixed messages of trust. Also, once a ID name is changed it makes it more difficult for any previous buyers or sellers to trace your Ebay account again.

What I'm not sure of is if ID has been changed and people try to message a altered ID do they receive the message of - Seller no longer registered ?
If so, a Ebay consultant may be needed to be contacted to resolve a issue.

A buyer / seller has up to 30 days after the last estimated delivery date to open a case on eBay. But a account holder can change their ID every 30 days also. So is there a Ebay loop hole that can be exploited ?

Yep. A friend was scammed out of a large sum (more than 100K), by an Australian. It was a clear case of fraud. The police told him it sounds like a civil case, we can't help you. They wouldn't even follow it up.

They simply don't want to know about it.

I have more than one eBay account and I have 100% positive feedback

There's nothing wrong with it its not illegal

I like to buy with one and sell with the other

Just because he has multiple accounts doesn't mean it's not legit

This is bad. It risks bringing disrepute and mistrust to the community.

Can anyone track down Goldenjosh88? It is extremely bizarre (in the extreme) that, if his account was hacked, that he kept quiet about it and suddenly stopped visiting the forum rather than at least creating a new account and posting a warning, or telling the admins.
