I am new to the Bullion game, I have been collecting Numismatic silver coins for the past few years and have amassed around 170 oz of proof silver coins. Can anyone give me some tips on the best way of converting these numi coins to buillion? I also have a power of alloy numi coins, which in hindsight were a complete waste of $$$$ Cheers
Hi Bank Manager, What sort of coins do you have - RAM, Perth Mint, foreign etc? There's an active Buy, Swap & Sell forum on here - you could try listing them there - we have a number of collectors on the forum but honestly most people are looking for bullion. What you don't sell here, try putting on eBay. Dealers will not offer much at all for most modern numismatics.
hello bank manager, welcome. if you want to go to all the trouble of posting images of your coins, there are a few here who get their jollies from that sort of thing and you might even get an offer or two.
You could try some numismatic forums if you haven't already. http://www.acbo.com.au/forum/ would be one which has a trading forum, I used it once, it was ok. You need to register
Hello & welcome to the Forum Try and search for completed listings on eBay for the coins that you own. http://shop.ebay.com.au/ebayadvsearch/ make sure you click on COMPLETED LISTINGS and than see what eBay buyers are bidding for the items. Bear in mind that there are fees involved with selling there. Once you have the prices than, take the photos of the coins and upload them here and offer them for aroudnd 5% less ( there are no fees here for the selllers ) and see if transactions can be completed. Or you can just upload the photos and turn it into a reserve bid auction here. If the highest price achieved is not up to your liking than just list it on eBay.
Thanks for the tips, I will check out the trading forums, Looks like feebay may be the best option for offloading most of these coins, I used to buy them and think these are great collectables, but in the grand scheme of things they are really only worth their Ag value. Most of the coins are modern proof issues from Perth Mint, RAM etc, If anyone knows anybody who gets their kicks from numi Copper bronze proof coins then I can load them up!! what a waste of $$!! Cheers
When I say what a waste of $$ what I really mean is "What a great collectable to spend up big on and put away for the kids....."
The way things are going, no silver is worth their Ag value. They all trade on a premium to spot, even the 'lowly' 1966 50 Cent piece. The copper bronze is best suited for eBay tho. eBay will cost you in fees and more time with individual listings but the exposure will be much greater.
Thanks all, looking forward to spending some time on here and getting my silver stack underway! Cheers
Would've thought generally that silver numis are always pretty liquid, have more investment potential & the same intrinsic value as rectangular silver bars. My question is why would you want to? That is unless you have a stack of silver swans under your bed? PS: Welcome Banky
Don't have any swans unfortunately! So you think keep the numi silver coins I have, dump the alloy crap and then from here on buy up on bullion? Can anyone suggest a good online bullion dealer who deals in all amounts from 1oz up? Cheers
eBay is a great place to sell 'collector' coins but you need to be aware as other have mentioned of the fees and realise that if you list the item as an auction, you run the risk of the sell price not reaching your initial buy price. Long term, PM collector coins could be worth something though but it all depends on the market.
G'Day Errol, I have the full set of $10 state silver coins plus 5 doubles. Are they popular witn bullion traders? Cheers
should just put a list with no prices and invite offers via pm (and say no lowball offers else you will be all day sorting your PMs ). Might make someones day and also make you some $
Not sure why you want to get out of numis to go into bullion. But I think you can try to sell your numis here. I'm keen on most Perth Mint & RAM silver issues.
